Focus Groups
Jury Research, Mock Jurors, Jury Focus Groups

Description:
    Focus group jury research exercises are streamlined mock trials
    Mock jurors are randomly selected, screened for security issues, and then qualified as jury-eligible citizens from the venue
    45-minute case presentations from attorneys representing the parties
    Adversarial presentations containing key arguments, cited evidence, witness testimony highlights, visuals, etc.
    Focus group jurors respond individually to questionnaires before and after hearing the attorney presentations and then deliberate to verdict and award decisions
    Deliberation groups consist of 6 to 8 jurors per group
    The Jury Experts have streamlined the process to allow us to conduct back-to-back morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) phases.
    A total of 2 to 8 separate deliberation groups can be conducted in one day (total of 12 to 64 jurors)

Insight and Advantages:
1.    Focus groups are the best jury research option for most cases
2.    A randomly-selected, representative cross-section of citizens from the venue provide feedback about your case
3.    Individual juror questionnaire data is recorded for jury profiling and jury selection purposes
4.    The Jury Experts consultants moderate a focusing session following deliberations to examine how jurors arrived at their decisions
5.    The Jury Experts two-phased research design allows for twice the number of groups to be conducted utilizing only one-day of resources.
6.    The two-phased, iterative design also allows for comparative testing across different evidence scenarios and/or immediate re-testing of adjustments made to afternoon presentations following feedback from morning deliberations.
7.    Most case fact patterns can be reliably tested using the multiple focus group research design
8.    Testing a greater number of groups under the streamlined Focus Group format will provide more reliable results than testing less groups under the more elaborate Mock Trial for most cases

Work Product (Deliverables):
    A streamlined report profiling juror case perceptions, perceived strengths and weaknesses, individual and group verdict and award decisions.
    Digital video recording (DVDs) of all group deliberations
    With enough data (40+ jurors), The Jury Experts can perform our proprietary jury profiling analysis
